Pyre is the new game from Bastion and Transistor creators Supergiant. This is Supergiant's third title, and it's looking like a bit of departure from the studio's usual character-based action.

Pyre is a party-based RPG set in a mystical purgatory. Supergiant's brand of visual design and overall presentation is intact, however, having now been extended to a full cast of characters.

You control a group of exiles looking for absolution through a competition known as the Rites. Your actions control who gets to remain in exile and who returns home.

The game is due for release in 2017 on PC and PlayStation 4.

Watch the reveal trailer and early screens below. The trailer's music is done by of Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett, whose work on the soundtracks of both Bastion and Transistor were among their most lauded aspects.
