If you register early, you might get a chance to try out Battleborn before release.
Head over to Battleborn’s RSVP site and either log in with your SHiFT account or create a new one to register. The fine print on the site clarifies that “participants are selected on a number of criteria based on the needs for testing, including (but not limited) platform preference, location and availability”. Actual details on the closed testing aren’t clear, but it seems as though there will be several different test sessions in the months ahead.
Battleborn is a co-operative multiplayer shooter from Gearbox Software, and is due for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 9, 2016. It plays very similarly to Borderlands, but greatly accelerated: you level up from 1 to 10 over the course of every individual level, rather than leveling up gradually over the course of the game. There are 25 playable characters in the game, each with unique abilities and weapons.
