EU News Wrap, September 5 - What happened today

Hello. We're just about to put a lid on our gamescom stuff, but as one door from one event closes, we're about to kick down two other doors for two more events: Tokyo Game Show and Eurogamer Expo. This is going to be a heavy finish to trade show season.

Pat's got a Gears of War 3 piece that'll should go up anytime soon, with more to come from him. Alas, there'll also be a few more pieces from me too: expect to see a Darkness II piece at some point this week.

After that, it's all go for Tokyo. Brenna's pumped and so am I, even though I'm not going. I love TGS and last year didn't disappoint: catch up on the happenings of 2010 here. And then get ready for next week in Japan.

And then, one other event, although a lot more closer to home this time, in the form of Eurogamer Expo. It's now confirmed that me and Pat are rocking the show for the site, so be sure to watch for happenings in two weeks. If you see either of us at the show, say hi. We won't bite - well, I do, but not much.

  It's looking like a mixed bag so far.

  It's not looking rosy right now at Crytek either way.
• UK charts: Driver held off top spot by Deus Ex
  Great to see Driver come back to form. Definitely my big surprise of the year.
• Report – Battlefield 3 360 to span two discs
  EA dropped a no comment in our direction earlier this afternoon when asked about it.
• Kevin Butler leads Resistance in new TV ad
  It's Kevin Butler. That is your reason why you should watch.
• Dead Island to get strategy iOS app at release this week
  It's everywhere. Even on iOS.
• Rumour: Syphon Filter 4 coming winter 2012, says Italian OPM
  No comment.
• IO Interactive to present Hitman Absolution at EG Expo
  Judging by what I saw at gamescom, if you're going, you need to be there.
• Kojima confirms online four-play co-op for Peace Walker HD
  Another reason for me to buy the MGS Collection. Of course, it goes into the jar which includes 1 million other reasons why I'm going to buy this.
• GAME to stop selling pre-owned Xbox 360s
  You can still trade them in, though,
• LittleBigPlanet image teases “something awesome” inbound
  No idea what that's about, to be honest.
