Rising Star Games has announced Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming for DS and Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley for PSP will hit UK and Europe soon.

Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming on DS branches out into puzzle territory, putting players’ farming skills to the test with 12 playable characters in Story, Mission and Score Attack modes.

Each crop is represented by a unique icon and color and these must be matched as quickly as possible in order to harvest the crops before they take over the farm.

For the PSP is Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley, which sees the inhabitants of Leaf Valley join forces to save itself from destruction, but it’s down to the player use smart tactics and choose from 16 possible pathways.

To progress players must grow crops, raise animals and mine ores and gems to help save Leaf Valley and their family farm. Skills and money can be earned in part-time jobs, and gamers must also earn the trust of villagers to gain their help.

“The Harvest Moon series is Rising Star Games’ longest standing and most successful franchise,” says Martin Defries, the firm’s managing director.

“Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming and Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley both push the boundaries of the Harvest Moon series, bringing new challenges and styles of gameplay to the classic collection.”

Frantic Farming on DS and Hero of Leaf Valley on PSP will be released in autumn/winter in the UK and all PAL territories.

Retail has Frantic Farming down for October 22, and we couldn’t find a listing on for Hero of Leaf Valley, but obviously it’s the “winter” release.

Both are already out in North America.
