Square Enix has started hiring for positions for development on a next-gen engine.

The company’s recruit pages posted the listing on Tuesday for proper next-gen consoles, like PS4 or Xbox 720. It says:

“At Square Enix, in anticipation of the appearance of next generation platforms, we’ve started development on a new generation game engine for competing beyond the level of the strong developers throughout the world, and are presently seeking a lot of talent.”

Square also used the image of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII in the listing, which has many fanboys already kicking up a storm, thinking it’s actually for the much wanted remake of the game. Awesome.

Thanks, Andriasang.
