The series’s producer TwitPic’ed off-screen shots of the opening in action, showing Jehuty from ZoE1 in an anime form. The first game consisted of a realistic look, while its sequel The 2nd Runner was formed with an anime look.

While there was no Zone of the Enders 3 announcement at TGS this weekend, Hideo Kojima has said he still intends to make the sequel. A sequel that was actually at one point in development.

TGS is about more than just the best upcoming video games. It’s also about semi-useless-yet-totally-awesome gaming paraphernalia.

Kojima appeared at the Sony TGS presser this morning to announce the Zone of the Enders HD Collection would arrive on PlayStation Vita alongside its PS3 brother next year. A teaser video also appeared at the event, which all but mainly consisted of the anime scenes from Zone of the Enders 2. This will be legitimately amazing. Seriously.
Get the video below the break, via IGN. The pack, which comes with the first two games in the series, will arrive on Xbox 360 as well.

Hideo Kojima has followed up his Zone of Enders blog post from last week with a new entry stating how surprised he was over staff and public reaction to it.
“The reaction [to the post] was greater than I’d expected,” he wrote. “The comments topped the 100 mark, and the access count reached levels of the Tokyo Game Show time. It was picked up in a variety of places, including the net and press, and spread throughout the world.”
Over at Kojima Productions, former ZOE staff members in the building were so excited, they asked to be a part of the next installment, wanted to know when it be started on, and one even decorated his desk in ZOE style.
Kojima was even a bit shocked to hear rumors that used prices for the previous two games had gone up as well.
People really love theses games, we reckon.
More through Andriasang.

Hideo Kojima said during an interview over on the EU PS Blog that as far as a new Zone of the Enders game is concerned, it’s not a question of “if” one will be released, just “when”.
“A lot of [people] love Zone of the Enders, and we love the title as well, especially at Kojima Productions and we always want to create one for the next gens as well,” he said.
“Of course, Kojuma Productions has a long list of things we want to bring out, and of course Zone of the Enders is one on the top of the list.
“However, we have to manage staffing and work around projects so it’s not going to be out too soon, but we are really considering it.”

Would you comment on a recent Metal Gear Solid Integral Podcast? Because, unless the sometimes maddeningly crafty tricksters over at Kojima Productions are yanking our chains, your input might just be enough to save the cult-favorite mech series from rusting away in the scrap heap.
“How many people really want Zone of the Enders a sequel?” Asked the team during its most recent podcast.
“If there’s so many people wanting to see Zone of the Enders, why not put the priority on top, a little further up, you know, but we just want to know,” Konami’s Aki Saito added, stoking the flames.
“Make sure you write your comments and we’ll check your comments out,” he concluded.
Tell your friends. Tell all of them.
Thanks, PS3 Center.

According to this, “ZOE 3 will be shown at Sony’s next game expo and it’s Ps3 (sic) exclusive and it’s going to be fully integrated with online multiplayer that host up to 32 players.”
We’re only posting this because (1) it’s funny, (2) we want it to be true and (3) it gives us an excuse to post a picture of the Konami mech game. In actuality, the Zone of the Enders titles were a bit rubbish, but we loved them nonetheless. The first one was one of the first “next-gen” PS2 games, and got a big push from including a demo of MGS2 way back there in 2001.
