Australians, the wait is over – somewhat earlier than expected. Vooks has received a receipt proving customers have been able to talk The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time out of EB Games Australia staff.

Kotaku got in touch with the retailer and was advised both that the game would be available on release day – June 30 – and that staff would probably hand it over now if asked. Some stores have told customers the game is not yet in stock.

Aonuma: Ocarina of Time is “not that good”

zeldaartmain

Pitchforks and shotguns at dawn! Get them out!

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has revealed in an recent interview, translated by GAF, he reckons that the infamous Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is “not that good.”

Buuurn.

If you play Ocarina of Time nowadays, you notice that it’s not that good,” said Aonuma.

Again, burn.

It’s complicated. Past things belong to our memories, and they grow bigger in there.

“Sometimes it doesn’t move as fast as it should, graphics aren’t as beautiful as they should be; there are some confusing parts… any present Zelda is technically superior. Everything goes faster, more fluid.”

Thanks, CVG.

Ocarina is “best game to play today,” says Edge

zeldaa

God. Edge has posted its “100 Best Games to Play Today” feature, with Ocarina of Time at number one.

Apparently, “Over a decade after release,‭ ‬The Legend Of Zelda:‭ ‬Ocarina Of Time has achieved a distinction reserved for a true classic.‭

“It’s been forgotten.‭ ‬Writing about it garners nothing but grandiose adverbs and scattered memories of Hyrule Field.‭ ‬It’s‭ ‘‬unquestionably‭’ ‬and‭ (‬even better‭) ‘‬indefinably‭’ ‬great.”

Goodo. This is actually an abridged version of the piece from the mag’s 200th edition. Read the whole “unquestionably indefinable” thing through the link.
