Tomodachi Collection: New Life still on top in Japan
Tomodachi Collection: New Life continued its reign on the Media Create charts in Japan for the June 3-9 period, bringing it’s life-to-date sales to the 1,090,875 mark since its April 18 release. The only new title to grace the top 20 was Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, and it debuted at 11. Hardware sale continued to decline. Charts are below.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life back on top of Media Create charts
After being knocked off the top of the Media Create charts for two weeks straight, Tomodachi Collection: New Life is back on top with 59,104 units sold. Life-to-date, the 3DS title has moved 1,044,088 units since its April 18 release. All hardware was down for the period, with 3DS LL showing the largest drop – 28,807units over last week’s 40,651 units. The smallest drop came from 3DS which was only down 3DS two units over the prior week.

Shin Megami Tensei 4 debut helps 3DS sales surge at Japanese retail
Shin Megami Tensei 4 was released in Japan on May 23, and the Atlus title landed at number one of the software chart, moving 188,562 in three days. The RPG helped lagging 3DS sales surge over the prior week as well, with the system moving 40,651 units compared to 24,123 units last week.

Summon Night 5 tops Media Create charts, hardware still down in Japan
Summon Night 5 debuted on the Media Create charts at number one in Japan, knocking Tomodachi Collection: New Life off it’s cushy spot for the time being. The Namco title moved 105,511 units on PSP. Hardware was down again this week. You can get both charts below.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life continues its streak on Media Create charts
There’s seems to be no stopping the beast that is Tomodachi Collection: New Life on the Media Create charts. Once again, the title was the number one seller in Japan for the week ending May 12. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf continued to be great sellers as well, the former earning life-to-date sales of 691,921 and the later now pushing
over 3.2 million copies across the region.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life tops Japan’s Media Create charts again
Tomodachi Collection: New Life was once again the top earner in Japan for the week ending May 5. Last weeks’ number one, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen fell to fourth place. Interestingly enough, there were no new releases for the period, yet sales of all hardware offerings were up over last week. Some not by much, but growth is growth.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life continued its dominance of the Media Create charts this week, moving another 144,903 units. Combined with last week when it moved 404,858 units during its debut, the title has moved 549,761 physical units in Japan.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life sparks 3DS surge on Japanese charts
Tomodachi Collection: New Life was the big seller in Japan the week of Apr 15 -21. It moved 404,858 for 3DS, while Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 debuted in second with 87,661 units sold on PS3. 3DS LL sales were up over the prior period by 28,950 units.

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon still retail king in Japan
For the third week in a row, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon was the top selling game on the Media Create charts in Japan. Another regular of late, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, came in second with 49,000 units moved. It has now sold over 3 million units in the region. Hardware sale across the board were down considerably in some cases. Both charts for week 14 are below.

Luigi’s Mansion reigns supreme at retail in Japan
Luigi’s Mansion was still the number one title on the Media Create charts for the week, moving 111,000 units extra. Fate/Extra CCC debuted in second place for PSP, moving 73,000 units. On the hardware side of things, Wii and Wii U were the only offerings to show an increase over the prior week with 1,858 and 22,829 units moved, respectively. All other hardware units saw a decline in sales.

Sword Art Online and 3DS LL sales top retail in Japan
Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment and Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix went head-to-head on Media Create’s charts for the week of March 11-17, with Namco’s debut besting Square’s by only 9,766 units.

Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden, Nintendo titles dominate charts in Japan
The debut of Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden in Japan has knocked Animal Crossing: New Leaf off it’s comfy perch, by moving 872,922 units on 3DS. The square title also helped 3DS and 3DS LL sales jump quite significantly over last week’s figures. Out of the top 20 on the Media Create charts, all but seven titles were for Nintendo platforms. Animal Crossing: New Leaf back on top in Japan, 3DS LL maintains
Despite new releases from Nippon Ichi, Compile Heart and the release of Hitman: Absolution in Japan, Animal Crossing: New Leaf re-took the top spot on the Media Create charts after being bested by a brunette Dante last week. The Nintendo life sim sold an additional 82,370 units for the period, which brings its life-to-date-total to 2,366,126 units. 3DS LL was still on top of the hardware chart, followed by its older sister 3DS. The only hardware to increase in sales over the week prior was Vita, which moved 9,748 units compared to last week’s 9,036. Likely due to the release of Demon Gaze and Compile Hearts’ Genkai Totsuki Monster Monpiece. Charts are below.

Pokémon Black & White 2 tops in Japan during 2012, according to Media Create
Pokémon Black & White 2 were the best-selling games in Japan during 2012, Media Create has revealed via it Top-30 of 2012 chart. The Nintendo titles were followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and New Super Mario Bros. 2, respectively. The tracking retail firm also listed the best-selling hardware in the country to-date, and the clear winner was PlayStation 2 with 21,833,215 units sold. Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Nintendo titles reign supreme on Japanese charts
Titles for Nintendo systems dominated the Media Create’s latest sales chat, with Animal Crossing: New Lead stilling comfortable on top. There were no new releases for the period. 3DS LL and 3DS were still the number one and the number two best selling systems for the week as well, which helped push the handheld’s unit sales past the 10 million sold mark in the region. 2nd Super Robot Wars OG, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney top Media Create charts
Namco’s 2nd Super Robot Wars OG debuted in the top sport on Media Cretae’s charts this week, moving 217,710 units on PS3. The title bested the Level-5 Capcom collaboration, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, by 88,854 units.

Black Ops 2 moves 219,527 units on PS3, 360 at Japanese retail
Animal Crossing: New Leaf remained in the top spot at Japanese retail for the third week in a row, according to Media Create figures, but Treyarch’s Black Ops 2 did fairly well in its debut moving 197,350 units on PS3 and 22,177 units on Xbox 360. Combined, the shooter moved 219,527 units for the week, essentially making it the top earner on the chart.
