Civilization V patch fixes more than a dozen bugs and crashes
Firaxis has pushed out a welcome patch for Civilization V, squashing bugs introduced with the Gods & Kings expansion and associated title updates. Resolved issues include the one where your great general breaks everything; the one where religions break everything; and the one where finishing a scenario breaks everything. Additionally, that weird save file thing with DLC Civs has been corrected, hooray. Check out the full patch notes for more information.

Civilization V Steam Workshop patch available
Heads up – the promised Steam patch for Civilization V is live. Although the update adds a number of fixes and tweaks, notably to UI and presentation, the core content is probably Steam Workshop Integration, which will hopefully enable a lively modding scene. See the full patch notes here.

Civilization V to receive Steam Workshop support
Firaxis will replace Civilization V’s existing mod browser system with integrated Steam Workshop support. The grand strategy will be the seventh game to announce Workshop support after Team Fortress 2, Portal, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and the forthcoming Toki Tori, Garry’s Mod and Gettysburg: Armored Warfare. More details on timing and early access are promised over the coming week.

Changes made to Civilization V with Gods and Kings expansion were community-driven
Ed Beach, lead designer on Civilization V and its expansion Gods and Kings, has told Joystiq the team made three changes to the game based on community feedback: AI no longer holds grudges; religion, diplomacy and combat were added or overhauled; and the combat tech tree doesn’t contain “dead ends” anymore.
