Final Fantasy 3 for PSP and 3DS were the big winners on the Media Create charts in Japan, selling 44,872 and 61,382 units, respectively. We combined units sales of 3DS LL and 3DS there. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning debuted in third place on PS3, and LittleBigPlanet Vita debuted at 17. Get the full hardware and software charts below.

Final Fantasy 3 will release on PSN next week for PSP. New feature include graphics optimized for the 16:9 screen, an image gallery, an option to switch to the original BGM, and an auto-battle system that doubles the speed of combat. Final Fantasy 3 will release on September 25. A price wasn’t attached to the announcement.

More good news out of early Famitsu leaks; Siliconera reports that a PSP re-release of Square Enix classic Final Fantasy III comes with an English language option, just like the first, second and fourth remakes. Since we’ve had nary a sniff of an official western release, and the PSP is blissfully region free, you know how to get your paws on this new version, which launches on September 20 with an auto-battle feature and original soundtrack.

Japanese gaming magazine Jump has detailed the PSP port of the 2006 DS version of Final Fantasy III currently in development at Square Enix.

A scan of next week’s Jump floating around the net and noticed by NeoGAF yesterday, indicates Final Fantasy III will be heading to PSP in Japan. The game was previously released on DS and iOS and is expected to cost ¥3,300 through PSN, ¥3800 in stores and release on September 20. A shot of the scan is below.

A soundtrack CD hitting Japan November 25 from Square Enix features music from some of it’s most beloved games.
Titled Love SQ, it’s got Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Romancing Saga and Legend of Mana tunes for the listening, each re-arranged by Japanese musicians.
