Japanese FFXIII sells over 1.5 million in week one
Famitsu’s confirmed a Japanese week one sales figure of 1,516,532 units for Final Fantasy XIII.
This is for the week ending December 20. The game launched on December 17.
According to this report, the RPG has resulted in almost 250,000 PS3 hardware sales.
The Media Create hardware figures should be awesome. Watch for those next week.

PS3 passes 4 million in Japan, Wii breaks 9 million
According to Famitsu, PS3 has passed 4 million hardware sales in Japan, with life-to-date figures now standing at 4,020,563.
Wii has also broken a major milestone, in addition, beating 9 million units at 9,048,012.
PS3 launched on November 11, 2006 in Japan; Wii appeared on December 2 of the same year.

FFXIII gets 39/40 in Famitsu
Famitsu’s given Final Fantasy XIII 39/40, as you can see in this scan on FinalFantasy-XIII.net.
Not as good as Bayonetta, then.
The RPG’s out later this month in Japan. Europe and the US get it in March.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii takes 40/40 from Famitsu
The latest Famitsu’s given New Mario Bros. Wii a perfect score of 40/40, as you can see on Kotaku.
It’s the thirteenth game in the mag’s history to take top marks. The rest are:
