Demo for Pirates of the Black Cove released
Paradox will release Nitro’s Pirates of the Black Cove on PC August 2, and to give you a taste of what to expect from the RTS/RPG title, the publisher has released a demo for it. You can get it from various outlets such as FileFront, GamersHell, and FilePlanet.

2K Games has announced on its forums a playable demo for Duke Nukem Forever is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace.

PSA: El Shaddai demo out now on console networks
Hit up the US PSN or Xbox Live today and you can grab a demo of Ignition’s stunningly beautiful action game, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
The game features badass angels beating things up with a variety of unique weaponry, and has become a sort of cultural force in Japan. Probably worth a look, then.
El Shaddai is due in July in the US, and September in Europe.

Minecraft demo released
Mojang’s released a Minecraft demo, which allows you to play up to 90 minutes of single-play before being pointed politely towards spending some money. The game, in case you’re a blind hermit, is an open-world thing where you hit cows and build stuff. Download it from PC Gamer.

Good sports – MLB 2K11 and Top Spin 4 demos hit Live
Nelson’s sent word that both the MLB 2K11 and Top Spin 4 demos are now available on Live. The baseball taster allows you to play a three-inning game with the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers at AT&T Park, while tennis demo lets you take a tie-break match to seven points. Both games ship in March.

Crysis 2 MP demo now available again on Xbox Live
EA’s released the multiplayer demo of Crysis 2 again on Xbox Live, having previously launching it and pulling it soon after. It comes in at 1.66Gb. You can download it from the Newest section of the demos area of Xbox Live, or you can queue it here. The new demo follows the release of the PC taster this morning. A PS3 demo is coming “soon”.
The shooter’s out on March 25 for PS3, 360 and PC.
