Trion Worlds has laid off as many as 100 employees, according to various sources on the net. Some say the lay-off count is as high as 80% – a percentage Trion states is “grossly exaggerated.”

Defiance renewed for a second season by SyFy
Syfy has renewed Defiance for a second season by greenlighting 13 new episodes. Season two will begin production in Toronto in August for a 2014 premiere. The news coincides with Trion’s announcement of new content headed to the game end of Defiance, which includes five content updates for the year, with each one offering free, paid and micro-transaction items along with a new playable species on the docket.

Defiance makes local debut on SF Australia April 18
Trion Worlds’ Defiance launches locally on April 11, and the tie-in SyFy series wll be quick to follow. Local Foxtel channel SF Australia has announced the first of 13 episodes will air on April 18, about 55 hours after its US debut. Tune in at 9:30PM EST, and keep a special eye out for Australian lead Grant Bowler as Nolan. The MMO will be available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Defiance – second Ark Hunter Chronicles Series video released alongside new multiplayer trailer
Trion has released the second episode of the Ark Hunter Chronicles Series for Defiance. The seven part series takes a look into the multiplayer online shooter which releases in April. Trion has released a set of screenshots and artwork for its Defiance shooter MMO. You can have a look at the bandwidth sucking shots below. It was totally worth the drain, because we liked what we saw. Defiance is available for pre-order, and you can still sign up for the beta here. The game is scheduled for release in April 2013.

Defiance dated, live-action trailer released
Defiance will release on April 2, Trion has announced alongside the release of a new live-action trailer. The second beta weekend for the MMO shotter kicks off next weekend. The game will be made available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and the events in the game on via the Syfy series debuting on April 15 will blend together with events in both affecting each other.
