With the Halo Wars 2 release date quickly approaching, and the upcoming beta launch in less than 24 hours, all eyes are on Creative Assembly and Microsoft to produce a worthy entry in the genre.

But before you can try it our for yourself, give Alex's video a watch. He recently had a chance to play the final build on PC, and he brought along new footage to go with some update impressions of the campaign, as well as all multiplayer modes, including the beta's Blitz mode.

Most of the chat in the video revolves around multiplayer, the part of the game he played most of. He touches on the various commanders you can pick at the start of the match, and how each of their skill trees cover a particular angle or playstyle.

3v3 domination offers the same hectic gameplay you can find in the regular version, but the emphasis moves from annihilating the rest of map to capturing objectives. Although you can ignore these and play it as a regular deathmatch round, you won't be having the best experience.

Alex then goes to talk about Blitz, the new mode that removes the base building aspect in favour of card-based air drops. You build your deck of cards like a CCG, and you can use up to 12 of them in each one. Some cards spawn in units, while others call in powers like repair and MAC Blast.
