Overwatch player count tops 10 million

Overwatch hasn't been out for a whole month yet and already 10 million players have logged in to Blizzard's hero shooter.

Not bad for Blizzard's first modern sim-ship on PC and consoles - and its very first shooter. Also something of a redemption for the development team, who had previously worked on the ill-fated Titan.

Although 10 million players doesn't necessarily equate to 10 million sales, Overwatch performed very well in that regard. If even half of those players are on purchased copies (and that is a dire under-estimation), Overwatch is smack bang in the big leagues.

The latest news from Overwatch is a balance patch with changes to Widowmaker and McCree. The shooter is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
