Bethesda "evaluating" Battlecry, has "concerns"

Battlecry, Bethesda's first free-to-play multiplayer game, seems to be on rocky ground.

Battlecry hasn't been outright cancelled, but it looks like Bethesda's mulling the prospect over.

In a statement given to Progress Bar, the publisher hinted that the project may not make it to completion.

"We have concerns about the Battlecry game and whether it is meeting the objectives we have for it," a Bethesda representative said.

"We are evaluating what improvements the game needs to meet our quality standards."

That doesn't sound good, although it's heartening to hear that eponymous developer Battlecry Studios is busy with "multiple projects".

Battlecry was announced in advance of E3 2014 and was toured through several consumer-facing events over the next few months. The 32-player battles and triple faciton set up seemed to go over well with crowds, but apart from some new footage out of E3 2015 we've heard very little about it since. You can still sign up for the closed beta on the Battlecry website, though.

Thanks, Jake.
