Nintendo has reportedly cut the price of the Basic white model of the Wii U by £70 in the UK.

MCVUK is reporting that Nintendo has cut the price of the Basic white 8GB model of the Wii U by £70 since as early as late October.

Nintendo is trying to "clear out" stock of the Basic models, according to one retail source. The price of the Premium 32GB Wii U model remains unaffected, according to the site.

The site adds that because Nintendo does not set retail prices for its consoles in the UK, we may not get an official announcement of the cut.
