Available for pre-order now, Sony announced during the conference First Light was slated for an August release, with providing any further details.

An IGN reader sent the site a screengrab today showing an August 26 release on the PlayStation Store. IGN verified the date by logging into the PS Store.

Today, June 26, Sucker Punch has confirmed the release dates: August 26 for North America and August 27 for Europe.

First Light stars conduit Abigail “Fetch” Walker an it allows the payer to experience the events which transform her into the conduit players met in Second Son.

New environments include Curdun Cay as well as the ability to revisit Seattle and use Fetch’s “own flavor of neon”.

First Light will be available digitally through the PlayStation Store and promised to include “fun exclusive content” for those who own Second Son.

I bet the game doesn’t really feel like you are playing as a female though, they should add something like a monthly cycle to really get the ‘female’ portion of the game as girly as possible, quicktime tampon changing events spring to mind, give the game its own female identity, after all, who likes playing as boring periodless men in games? I don’t.

Lets not hide from including periods in games, they should be celebrated and not hidden away.

I think in many ways, Fetch could have a more interesting leading character. She has suffered and has a deeper heartfelt story The story of a spoiled stoner graffiti artist who was childish and immature until he got powers wasn’t as interesting I thought.

I also liked she looked like a normal person and not trying to be a super babe.
