Outlast: Whistleblower expansion dated for PS4 & PC, new screen emerges

Outlast: Whistleblower is the expansion to Red Barrels’ spooky survival horror game, and the team has just dated the new content, along with a new screen.

Red Barrels confirmed that Whistleblower will drop on May 6 on PC and PS4 in the US and May 7 in Europe.

The team wrote, “Whistleblower will let you play as Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed journalists around the world – including Miles – at the beginning of Outlast.

“Spending a couple of weeks at Mount Massive, during which he was unable to even talk to his wife and son in Boulder thanks to strict security protocols, Waylon developed a deep-seated distrust of the profit-motivated scientists and doctors leading dangerous and irresponsible experiments on their patients. Identifying with those poor souls fueled Waylon’s anger, and set the stage for his unmasking of Mount Massive’s rotten core.”

If it’s anything like the full games, it’s going to be mighty disturbing. We’ll have more on the content as it comes.

Can not wait for this! Outlast still is one of the best horror games in the last ten years if you ask me. Sure the gameplay was a little repetitive (ie turn these switches on to proceed, etc) but the atmosphere more than made up for it!

Gonna turn the lights off, slap on my 5.1 headphones, and get ready to jump out of my skin!!
