Final Fantasy 7 remake is happening, according to insider - rumour

Final Fantasy 7 remake rumours continue, and one insider has claimed that Square is going to go ahead with the new treatment, despite recent shows of trepidation around the project from Yoshinori Kitase.

It follows our report on Kitase's Final Fantasy 7 remake concerns, where he made clear that he game would take a lot to happen, given fan expectations, budget and the sheer scale of the original game.

NeoGAF user and industry insider Verendus, responded to Kitase's recent quotes, and said, "It's happening. He's obviously not going to give any indication as such though so it hardly matters until they're ready to announce something. His comments make sense. It's a huge project that will take a lot of effort, and demand a lot from him personally, in order to ensure the end result is something satisfactory."

Make of this what you will, but as VG Leaks pointed out, making baseless claims gets you banned from NeoGAF unless you show the moderators something to back up your statement. What that is, however, remains unclear.

Treat this firmly as rumour for now.
