Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the shooter will launch with three mech types. Community manager Abbie Heppe has discussed this and more on Twitter.

It follows word that Titanfall’s first DLC expansion is coming Q3 2014. Hit the link for all the details.

Now on Twitter, Heppe has been discussing some aspects of Titanfall’s March 11 launch with fans, first confirming that there will be three Titan types at launch. We know them as the Atlas, Ogre and Stryder.

Meanwhile, another gamer asked Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella if he was excited about Titanfall’s launch. He replied:

We don’t blame him for feeling nervous. Titanfall’s got a lot of hype on its metallic shoulders after all, and there’s the whole 6v6 players online thing.

Also, responding to YouTube restrictions on Titanfall gameplay, Zampella told one fan not to worry:

Will you be picking Titanfall up at launch? Let us know below.

Well it looks like Australians will be playing on servers located in Singapore so unless something is announced soon I will give it a miss. At least we have a beta so we can try before buying. Needless to say this issue has a lot of gamers worried. Whirlpool, one of the biggest community forums over here, has a thread running over 60 pages on the topic. Guess I’ll just wait and see what happens.

I’d be nervous too launching the same month as infamous second son. An online only vs campaign only

@jomac3db I am sorry dude, but i am pretty sure they are not nervous about Infamous. I am sure you have seen the immense excitement for Titanfall from gamers worldwide and the media in general? Nuff said.

Its basically an online only game though? Im sure some folks with xb1 just got it for offline and that audience are alienated straight away. If they want it to succeed it needs to be on both next gen platforms. I know its on pc and 360 too but yet again its online only. After the backlash ms had with the xb1 only been online to people who still stuck with it with no internet connection its salt to the wounds. In comparison sony have infamous a single play only orientated game. Which caters for all who own their console and will sell pretty much to every owner of the ps4? Titanfall could flop. I dont want it to but it could. I can see why the worry is there from the developers. And yes people will say if they have no net how did they get the day one patch. Friends houses and mobile tethering.

@2 I’m not sure how or why they should be worried about a single player, offline, ps4 exclusive, third person action game. Not even the same ballpark.

@jomac3db Separate exclusives, and really different games. Unless you own both, not sure why this would be an issue at all.

And to those complaining about the online only stuff, it’s a fps, where beyond a short single player campaign, the longevity of the game is purely based off it’s multiplayer. I’m happy they focused their time and money where the bulk of the game is played.

I would say the only thing Titanfall is fearful is the over saturation of X1 shooters. Halo, Gears, COD, and BF. Even if it is successful launch how many people will stay on it in the long run. With annual Halo, COD, and possibly Gears, these games always dominated the shooter market on all platforms. are always on the top no matter how much complain about COD coming out every year.
