Broken Age review round-up, get all the scores here

Broken Age developer Double Fine has lifted its review embargo and the numbers have started dropping online. Does Act One of the Kickstarter-funded adventure raise the genre’s bar? Find out here.

We reported on the Broken Age embargo issue earlier this week, which asked if reviewers could hold off on their appraisals until January 27. That date has since been lifted.

Our very own Brenna has written an appraisal of Broken Age: Act One, suggesting that while it’s a fine return to adventuring, it’s perhaps a tad over-familiar.

Here are the scores so far:

    I am really enjoying this.

It’s not complicated like oldschool adventure games (limited interaction with items, you can just use them, no “inspect” options etc), but oh my god , how beautiful is it… So many great characters, intriguing story, cool main characters. And awesome voice acting. First 20 minutes of Shay’s part could seem a little bit monotonous though.

Shame that it’s only half of the adventure for now (4,4 hours for me). And of course it ends with a cliffhanger…
