Wow Nintendo is getting stomped by Sony and Microsoft.

^ That is PS4 killing entire year of Wii U sales in less than 2 months.

I still remember how next-gen was gonna fail and Sony was going to leave console market :D

Well done Sony, the launch has been handled almost flawlessly since the reveal last Feb, especially when compared to MS/Ninty.

I question Microsoft’s number of sales in the US. I think that is systems shipped to stores, not sold. Companies sometimes fudge the numbers to make it look like products are selling better than they really are.

I live in the Dallas, TX area and I spent Saturday visiting 37 different stores looking for a PS Vita 32gb memory card and I noticed that everyone was heavily stocked with Xbox Ones and no PS4s.

One Best Buy even had an entire tracker trailer filled with Xbox Ones seeing they had so many on hand.

Most of the store clerks I talked too said that all their PS4s pretty much sell as soon as they stock them, but Xbox One is selling at a much slower rate.

I just checked eBay (US), PS4 is average selling higher than retail and Xbox One is trending lower than retail.

i hope the people that said the same thing will happen to ps4 and xbox one that happened to wii u are eating some crow now. for ps4 there is still infamous, driveclub, mgs 5, thief, mlb the show and a ton of indie games and most likely planetside 2 as well to come by march so i don’t see it slowing down. the ps4 is completely sold out and they haven’t even launched in japan!! wii u lost because it barely had anything post launch to keep the momentum going.

p.s. i even remember a certain older gamer suggesting sony shouldn’t launch the ps4 for another couple of years and just continue with ps3 and that xbox is going to dominate this next gen…..

This is amazing. 3 Million for XB1 was already great but 4.2 million sell through!? They better reach PS2 numbers with this.

Isn’t Wii U’s lifetime WW sales at 4 to 4.1 million? If so, holy shit. PS4 outsells Wii U’s total in less than 2 months. Hopefully this sales trend continues for both next-gen consoles and doomsayers can shove it up their asses.

Honestly, the next 2 years are going to prove the systems.

The only way I see Xbox One hurting PS4 is if they get Fallout 4 and Mass Effect 4 as Exclusives.

Sony would have sold more than that if they could have only kept up with the demand. Xbox Ones are still sitting on the shelves here in my town. Even the Wii U is selling better here.

If either game is next-gen only (No PS3/360 port) then yes but as it stands, at least Mass Effect will probably be cross-gen too. In case of Fallout 4, I actually think it will reverse alliance and get exclusive DLC for PS4.
Bethesda was always giving exclusive DLC to the platform with best performance and biggest install base and right now, it seems MS and Sony have switched places in those regards.

Historically, Bethesda has had a stronger relationship with Microsoft. Just look at Morrowind’s release on the original Xbox.

So, I would be less believable that Bethesda would damage their relationship with Microsoft.

Also, the beta releases of DLC that Bethesda has done with Xbox360 and not on Ps3 as evidence that that relationship is stronger.

Not if we believe this report:

Although officially yeah at this point, it was inevitable.

    As for the sales figures:
