Ninja Gaiden sequel in the works at Team Ninja

Thursday, 19th December 2013 01:23 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi has confirmed the developer is working on a new entry in the Ninja Gaiden series.

In a video discussion with Comcept boss and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z creator Keiji Inafune, Hayashi said that the existence of Spark Unlimited’s title doesn’t mean the core series will be neglected.

“Team Ninja is thinking of the next Ninja Gaiden,” he said.

“For example, if the games were food, the Ninja Gaiden series would be a rich meaty entree and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z would be dessert.

“Every course of the meal would be in the same Ninja Gaiden world, but gamers will experience different kinds of play. That’s how Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be different.”

Inafune commented that Hayashi had “let it out” that Team Ninja is indeed working on a new entry in the action series.

“So to the people waiting for that next Ninja Gaiden, it’s coming,” he said.

In the meantime, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late February and early March.

After the abysmal dissapointment of Ninja Gaiden 3, I doubt they will deliver. It better be next-gen also.

This cunt has ruined one of my favorite game series.

REPEATEDLY. He basically’s takes great idea from past entries and then SHITS on it. Apologises, resells the game and then SHIT on the fans. Then makes bullshit statements. THEN FUCKS UP THE GAME AGAIN.

How is this man not fired is beyond me?

I simply do not understand. I cannot comprehend this shit. I see him as one of the biggest failure if not the biggest failure in the modern gaming industry.

At least with PR scams like Molyneux and Bleszinski, they come out with semi-decent games at worst, that still sell well. Yes they talk rubbish but at least they don’t fucking ruin the entire franchise in terms of gameplay.

Normally a sequel is something to celebrate… but no. This next game WILL be garbage, I can say that with absolute certainty. I’ve followed the NG series since its inception on the original xbox and this man has NO VISION to what made NG great. He follows a policy of western appeasement that fucks him and everyone in the face.

Their may still be hope for Ninja Gaiden Z. At least that game has some direction and he’s not the sole visionary behind it.

He’s also taken a once highly respectable studio ‘Team Ninja’ and put it serveral notches down. People used to buy a console just to play these games. Now it’s butchered to the point of mediocrity.

He doesn’t just fuck up the gameplay, but also the legacy and structure of passed games.

Hayashi makes bad games that sell poorly then resells the same game with ‘fixes’ that still make the game shit and then he fucking gets to do a sequel of the SAME shit.

Would still take an Hayashi directed NG4 than a Ninja Theory directed DmC2.

Can’t wait for Ninja Gaiden 4. The original was so far ahead of its time it’s unbelievable. NG3 was so bad in comparison but at least he realised this and tried to rectify the mistakes.

It at least gives me hope that he will not make the same mistakes again. But now the pressure is really on Hayashi and Team Ninja. They have to put out a game that’s at least as good as NG2.

Fucking old men ., rambling -on about th’ mediocre crap they’re making.
Inafune has no new ideas an’ “Yaiba” looks like a confused attempt to bring
accessibility to th’ hardcore gameplay everyone expects. So now we have
Ninja Gaiden done as a 2D “Contra” -game. If this is dessert then can we
expect a pile o’ shit soon enough?

At least Itagaki had new ideas an’ was prepared to push gameplay an’
control conventions to bring players a heighten _d sense o’ excitement.
Inafune like much o’ th’ industry is just fumbling around without a clue .,
trying to outguess th’ audience an’ coming up short.

Choosing a substandard developer like “Spark Unlimited” also speaks
volumes about how much they actually care about “Ninja Gaiden” or th’
fans. I get th’ impression they have given up on th’ hardcore legacy an’
just want to broaden sales even if that means an experience that’s quite
middle o’ th’ road. So sad to see these clowns jerking each other off an’
talking complete rubbish while Itagaki remains at sea.
