Xbox One launch delayed to Q3 2014 in Nordic territories – rumour

Wednesday, 11th December 2013 00:51 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Xbox One won’t make it to Nordic territories until the shine has more than worn off 2014, according to anonymous whispers.

The rumour comes via Gamereactor, which cites trusted sources for word that Xbox One won’t launch in Nordic territories – Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden – until the third quarter of 2014.

The site had no indication either way of whether other territories still waiting on the new console would experience a similar delay.

The rumour is particularly interesting as the site had word of Microsoft’s limited European launch plans well ahead of announce.

Although Microsoft has confirmed the console is coming, Xbox One has not yet launched in Belgium, Holland, Russia or Switzerland in addition to the four countries listed above, despite hitting North America, the UK, PAL territories in Oceania and some western European countries on November 22.

The PlayStation 4 has gone live in these territories, although Sony is experiencing stock difficulties in many countries as it manages a wide-reaching launch. The Xbox One seems to be in good supply, possibly as a result of a tighter focus.

Some websites in my country, Holland are already saying we have to wait till Q3 as well. But that Gamereactor report never says it’s for us as well. So far it seems uncertain if Holland is affected too.

If it’s not out by March 11th, I’ll import it to Switzerland. I’m sorry Swiss market, but I want Titanfall.

I was informed on the matter back in October 2013, that this rumour is in fact true.

Can’t share my sources, but since this re-appeared, it seems to be real.

@1 Gamereactor is a Danish company though, so they might have gotten info about their “home market” (although they publish throughout Europe).

well, Holland and Switzerland can always grab one from Germany.
    But still, this sucks.
the demand doesnt seem to be that high that they cant produce less than what people want, so this doesnt make a lot of sense to me.
MS seems to be shoveling its own grave this generation like Sony did in the beginning of the last.
