Nvidia Shield update adds 1080p streaming support

Nvidia's latest firmware update for its Android-based Shield gaming tablet allows for full HD streams, improved controller emulation, and more.

IGN reports the latest update adds 1080p, 60FPS streaming for PC games such as Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Battlefield 4, as opposed to the 720p available before.

The update also introduces some changes to the Android Gamepad Mapper, allowing you to use analog sticks instead of motion input like gyroscope controls, and to map movement and look controls to the analog sticks instead of virtual buttons.

Finally, GRID streaming is now in beta in Northern California.
