Ironfall is 3DS cover shooter: website and first screen revealed

Tuesday, 15th October 2013 08:51 GMT By Dave Cook

Ironfall is the mysterious cover shooter from VD-Dev, creators of C.O.P. The Recruit. The studio has just opened a new site and published its first off-screen image of the game. It’s looking technically proficient on the handheld too.

The image was posted on the game’s site here, along with the tag-line “Take cover, they’re coming,” along with Nintendo 3DS and eShop logos.

Besides that, there’s little else.

What do you think of the image? Would you like to see more?

Even from that screenshot I can tell the game is going to look good.

Resident Evil on 3DS had good character models, too. But (this is where I turn on my Vita-fanboyness) in terms of lighting and world poly count a 3DS game will never look as good as some everage game on the Vita, not to even think of Uncharted, Killone or Gravity Rush.
Also playing a shooter with one Stick only is a pain. I somehow tolerated and even celebrated the controlls of peacewalker on the PSP, but now I think two sticks are the very least to play shooters.
It’s good to have shooters for 3DS players, but if your choice of systems is depending on it, the 3DS is not the right platform for this genre. There are alot more good shooters and actiongames on the Vita, which are actually palyable. (And still I play RPGs on my Vita for most of the time)
