War of the Vikings alpha out now on Steam Early Access

War of the Vikings publisher Paradox Interactive has released the game’s alpha build on Steam Early Access.

Developed by Fatshark, the game can be bought and played in alpha form now. Simply head over to the War of the Vikings steam hub to get rolling. It’ll run you £14.99.

The alpha build contains Arena and Team Deathmatch modes, playable on four maps: Gauntlet Forest and lastly Docks which comes in both small and large varieties.

You can also cut your foes up with a range of swords, one-handed and two-handed axes, longbows, throwing axes, and daggers.

Still no dragon shouts though. I’m properly upset.

If you’re feeling flush with coin you could opt for the Blood Eagle Edition at £22.99. It comes with bonus DLC, a digital concept art book and soundtrack download. Wealthy buggers can even plump for the £99.99 Valhalla Edition which will get you all DLC released from the game’s Q1 2014 launch, as well as everything in the Blood Eagle Edition.

Let us know if you give it a whirl.
