Final Fantasy Agito/Type-0 coming to iOS and Android

Final Fantasy Type-0 is notorious in certain circles for being an amazing PSP entry in the series that never made it out to the west. The kind that garners scores like 39/40 from Famitsu. Well speaking of the devil, scans of the new issue of Famitsu reveal that the beloved game is making its way onto iOS and Android.

The tip off comes via the Tweet by Aibo, a staffer at

Another user on Twitter claims it launch during the winter and the original game’s producer Hajime Tabata will be reprising his role for the port.

While there’s obviously no indication at all that Square Enix will bring the title over, they have been pretty good in the past at releasing most of their mobile games in the west and charging a premium price for them too.

It certainly seems like there would be a lot of fans who would appreciate an English release.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

Never mind. But they sure as hell must not make it a mobile only release in west.

And release it for a dead platform instead? A digital-only release for the PSP is the best you could hope for.

Mobile games are catching up, once both Nintendo and Sony lost the advantage in software quality, it’s game over.

Sony, make your move you lazy ass!! Bring it to Vita + platinum trophy. Then this game and the 90% already dead Vita will be booming. No?? It is you who will lose everything. By everything I mean letterly EVERYTHING.

@4 Sony’s not being lazy. It’s Square that has to translate it. Translating that much text from Japanese to English takes a very long time. Sometimes it takes me a week to get a Japanese dev interview over email translated and that’s just 600 words.

    Square-Enix is dead to me
But I gotta be honest , Typs-0 has a shitload of texts to translate more than a Japanese Visual novel game , Even English patchers themselves currently couldn’t translate the whole game .

Here is a more accurate article.

“The game will be free-to-play with microtransactions and things like paid continues. There will also be asynchronous multiplayer.”

Also the game announced isn’t a port of the PSP version, but a follow-up in the series.

“There also seems to be a weird, episodic story structure wherein new chapters are released every two weeks and the story evolves or changes based on player input, possibly a voting system, like a cooperative choose your own adventure.”

@5 thanks to the fans, and I thank them personally, because they already English-patched it. Internet does not lie though. Ugh, I just wish to play it in Vita !!
