Grid 2 Demolition Derby mode coming as free DLC

Wednesday, 4th September 2013 05:23 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Although PlayStation 3 owners must wait one more week, PC and Xbox 360 players can now enjoy Grid 2′s Demolition Derby mode, added via a free DLC pack today.

Codemasters said the community requested the return of Demolition Derby mode, which it believes will showcase Grid 2′s superior graphics and damage engine. In the Detroit Demolition Derby Stadium, players can choose from two track configurations, which both include a crossover jump, and play in single-player, split-screen and online multiplayer for up to 12 participants.

As well as opening the new mode, the pack adds the Jupiter Eagle Ray Mk 5 Demo Derby car and a range of stock, customisable liveries. Enjoy a few screens below, although it’s puzzling that you would when you could be smashing cars against each other.

Codemasters, I’m glad that you’re adding Destruction Derby to Grid 2, but two tracks isn’t enough for me to pay for a new game.

I am disappointed that you felt the need to dumb down Destruction Derby via Dirt Showdown in order to supposedly please the masses.

We want Destruction Derby with the same Grid physics and lots of races courses. Racing alone is fine, but if you could throw in some other modes (ala Dirt 3), that would be great too.

Also, please fix glitches in your games. I stopped playing Dirt 3′s extra “party” modes because of cheaters ruining the experience.

It’s the first race OF THE SEASON! What have they got here – is it akin to the Psygnosis track formula, or is it more of a dust bowl arena with contained chaos?
