Killzone: Shadow Fall – Guerrilla reiterates commitment to free multiplayer DLC

Wednesday, 21st August 2013 16:06 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Killzone: Shadow Fall will be the recipient of free multiplayer DLC post launch, Guerrilla Games has reiterated.

Speaking on the official website, community manager Victor Zuylen discussed the game’s multiplayer reveal at gamescom yesterday, adding that the mode will contain over 1500 increasingly difficult challenges to complete.

The developer has also redesigned the progression system to work with challenges rather than XP.

To help increase longevity even further, Zuylen said the team plans to continue support for the title well after launch, which means all DLC multiplayer maps “will be released free of charge to ensure everyone can play.”

Guerrilla plans to release more information regarding the multiplayer in the coming weeks through the official website and the PlayStation Blog.

Killzone: Shadow Fall will release as a PS4 launch title.

It is certainly looking like a great launch title. I may be wrong but I think they are pushing it into being even more tactical (considering that little drone) , different from CoD !

    Buy !

Very good moves by Guerilla, particularly tying multiplayer progress to challenges, rather than XP. Wow, talk about encouraging people to actually play the objective! :p Post-launch micro-support, and new maps for freeee as well – who can quibble with that. The new Warzones feature sounds really good, also. :)

Considering the pay2play multiplayer, this should be a standard.

    Yup. Well done Guerrilla.

It boggles the mind that other devs and publishers still think it’s a good idea to split the multiplayer player base. Codies have even started doing it on launch day, thereby stopping me from even wanting to play their games at all.
