Plants VS Zombies has dropped on the North American iTunes app store, courtesy of PopCap Games.

You can pick up the game on the US iTunes store here.

Plants Vs Zombies 2 is a freemium time-hopping romp with microtransactions for additional plants costing between $2.99-$3.99. You can also unlock plants by playing as normal.

The payments have led to many negative reviews over on the app’s UK product page so far, but it holds a solid 4-star rating at present.

What do you think of the game’s new payment model? Let us know below.

It’s out here too on iOS, playing it now.

I think the new payment model is abhorrent.

If they ever release it on PC it better be at a fixed price with all unlocks.

If you can finish the game and get all plants by *gasp* playing, then I don’t see anything wrong with it, as long as they don’t push micro transactions down your throat then it should be fine.

Wishlist: I wish these kind of games had a “don’t sell my anything” button on the settings, just to avoid fallin’ into the trap.
