The roster for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes has become larger, and the characters announced so far, are just a “mere fraction” of who is included.

According to a Marvel Video Games Comic-Con panel today, close to two dozen heroes, villains and real-world Marvel Comics creators were announced for the multiplatform title.

Here’s the rundown courtesy of Polygon:

  • Stan Lee (has Spider-man, Hulk powers and more)
  • Howard the Duck
  • Squirrel Girl
  • Dr. Doom
  • Deadpool
  • Jean Grey
  • Elektra
  • Magneto
  • Silver Samurai
  • The Punisher
  • Beast
  • Gambit
  • Storm
  • Green Goblin
  • Juggernaut
  • Rhino
  • Thing
  • Vulture
  • Sabretooth
  • Invisible Woman

I’m actually glad about that. She’s kind of an embarrassment when it comes to women in superhero comics; She’s been portrayed as weak-willed and has been written by far too many fetishistic writers. I’d prefer Sue Richards in all honesty, at least she hasn’t been abused by neckbearded writers so much.

Probably Storm too, to a degree. But yeah, Polaris has been something of a ‘go to’ name for particularly special, pervy writers.

And regarding the trailer, that was amusing. And I’m very glad to see the Hulkbuster armour present.

@2: You’re thinking about the really, really shitty depictions of Lorna. You’re clearly not aware of the depictions that are actually good, nor are you thinking about her raw potential as a character. Most of her best treatment is in the early 00s, the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon, Exiles, and a few recent story arcs.

Sue Storm/Richards was treated horribly too, the only reason her treatment got better and people acknowledge that is because Marvel actually put effort into letting her show her development and promoting it.

If we used “she’s been used horribly by writers that didn’t like or appreciate her” as a good enough excuse, Sue wouldn’t deserve to get use either. Remember how Sue Storm was called “Invisible Girl” and operated more as a damsel in distress early on, and how Reed Richards would literally slap her over things? Remember how she had that costume with the boob window of the number 4, and subsequently the fetishistic Malice use?

Wait, they promoted Quesada? Since when? I really need to catch up on my reading.

    Anyway, more Cosmic Marvel please.

Calling my LEGO Marvel team now: Deadpool, Hulk, The Punisher & Wolverine (Really hope there are team specific interactions / dialogues between Deadpool and Wolvie).

I’m interested to see how the Wii U version will fare. It’s coming for Wii too so I can’t see if there will be many differences….. Saying that probably the Xbox One and PS4 versions wouldn’t look that much better than the current gen ones.

The picking up and throwing of vehicles makes me so happy. It reminds me of that old Hulk game, the particularly good one which I always forget the name of.
