Zoo Tycoon gameplay detailed for adorable Xbox exclusive

Gameplay details for Xbox 360 and Xbox One exclusive Zoo Tycoon have been revealed by Frontier Developments' studio manager Jorg Neumann.

According to the interview posted over on Xbox Wire, players will be able to upload thier zoo to the cloud and share it with up to three other players who can lend you a hand with it.

Players will also be able to chat with other Zoo Tycoon players via Skype, trade animals, and more.

"Collaboration is a key part of this new Zoo Tycoon and we believe it will open up the experience on a truly global scale," said Neumann. "We feel a great sense of responsibility to the fans and are incorporating the excellent feedback and suggestions we've received from them over the years.

"By bringing the franchise to the Xbox consoles, we are able to add awesome new gameplay experiences and groundbreaking social dimensions that will make this the best Zoo Tycoon experience ever."

The game also makes use of Kinect, which allows the animal in your zoo to recognize you and respond to voice commands and gestures. You can also use the tech to perform enrichment interactions as well as access menus and infographics.

Those who play the game will also be able to join up with other community members and perform community-wide conservation efforts such as raising awareness of endangered species.

"There will be a great deal of focus on captive breeding and saving/rehabilitating and releasing animals back into the wild once they're ready," said Neumann. "Once released into the wild, the player can keep tabs on each animal to see how they're progressing and adapting to their new home."

Zoo Tycoon will also receive updates "based on real world events", thanks to a partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Microsoft will also donate resources to animal charities once community objectives are reached.

A date has not be set for the game, but you can look over the screens and trailer we posted for it back in June.

Thanks, OXM.
