Crytek shows off iOS tactics game at WWDC – report

Tuesday, 18th June 2013 07:04 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Crysis developer Crytek seems set to make another foray onto iOS with a tactics title called The Collectibles.

According to 9to5 Mac, Crytek demonstrated the game at WWDC last week, having just implemented support for Apple’s new MFi controller.

The Colectibles apparently has players commanding a squad of five, and is viewed from a top down perspective. It was demonstrated by the Crytek Budapest team.

The game supports both touchscreen controls and MFi, or a combination of the two depending on your preference (and number of hands).

A few off-screen screenshots are available through the link above; don’t get too excited about this one until it is formally announced, as developer demos often go through major transformations before the public gets a look at them.

Thanks, Joystiq.

oh wow, crytek have really fallen of the cliff for good now… its strange to think of that these guy made a beast of a pc game in 2007, called crysis. this game wouldn’t run on max settings for years to come on a pc, because it was so well done. now fast forward to 2013 and they are making crappy mobile games that no one care about. the crysis game series that was so breath taking in 2007 is left in the ditch, and are just a distant memory…. what a sad end.
