Flashback creator's Darkstone headed to mobile

Darkstone, a classic RPG from the creator of Flashback, is ready for a new lease on life thanks to an upcoming mobile port.

An ongoing partnership between original Vector Cell and publisher Anuman Interactive means the classic has been reworked by Artefacts Studios for a June release on Android and iDevice.

The interface has been updated to suit touch devices and the game system has been adapted somehow, although no details were given.

Darkstone debuted in 1999 and was designed by the legendary Paul Cuisset with Delphine Software, and is a hack and slash with over 100 levels and four player classes. The new version retains remixed versions of the original voice acting and sound effects.

A comparison of the old and new versions is available below.
