Langdell’s Edge trademark has been canceled by USPTO

Friday, 19th April 2013 17:04 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

The trademark for Edge which belonged to Edge Games founder Tim Langdell has been canceled by a court order.

Now, the known patent troll can no longer sue every company which uses the word “edge” for any reason.

A petition to to cancel the registration was filed by DICE and EA and the process to eliminate the trademark has been in the works since 2010.

Two Tribes, is celebrating the fact by putting Mobigame’s Edge on sale for 50% off.

Thanks, Joystiq.

This is great news but not enough. This man should be in jail. He practically stole money from his employees, many copyright owners, forged documents and lied to many judges.

He is a big ass. I mean its like Square would sue everyone, which got a game with the word “Fantasy”
Even Cross Edge was affected and NISA was not able to show the name in the FORUMS!!!

It was simply crazy. The likes of Zenimax / Bethesda with Scrolls or the hypothetical Square scenario would have at least have a game / product to talk about.

Langdell’s “edge” games… My god. It took decades but his stealing and leeching has finally been stopped.
