Star Wars 1313 would have starred Boba Fett – report

Thursday, 4th April 2013 21:13 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Star Wars 1313, the game shelved by Disney due to the closure of LucasArts studio, would have had players starring as none other than bounty hunter Boba Fett, according to a report on Kotaku which was handed some concept art from the project. According to the report, Fett being the star of the game was an order handed down to developers last May by George Lucas himself. While the future of the game looks grim at present, a representative stated yesterday that other development studios will now be able to license the Star Wars IP, and this includes the possible take over of development on 1313 as well as Star Wars: First Assault.

Disney should have fired the management instead of laying off everyone. I mean, with proper management they could have turned this into a mega hit while preparing for Battlefront 3.

Seriously, BF1 and BF2 are the BEST SELLING Star Wars games to date and LucasArts’ management did everything in its power to ruin that franchise.

@1 absolutely. poor management followed by poor management. fuck Disney if this is anything to go by they may drive the star-wars name further into the ground. They should save 1313 at least, very sad and disappointing news.

So much hate everywhere. I don’t get it. I enjoyed every bit of Star Wars Games that were released the last years. I don’t get this elitism of how star wars should be. If you dont like what it is now then go find something else?

I bet they are gonna save it up and have some third party studio work on it until the release of the new movies and then they are going to go full barrage of Star Wars content.

I’m about as surprised as for the sun rising in the morning.
If it doesn’t have ships, wookies or light sabers, it’s about the only other character using a gun in the universe. Sure, if it was older LucasArts, maybe, but recent LucasArts would just pimp out Boba.
It also looked like a generic corridor shooter, so, nothing of value is lost through its cancellation.
Now, had this been a proper Dark Forces/Jedi Knight game, that would have been interesting.

@3, Disney will be the one’s to SAVE the Star Wars franchise. It was Lucas himself who has done so much to tarnish the brand name.

At the moment Star Wars is on its arse, with only Clone Wars & Lego keeping a dwindling number of people interested.

That’s it, twist the blade so the wound doesn’t heal. Excuse me while I go bleed from a heart-shaped hole in the chest.
