Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two confirmed for PS Vita

Monday, 18th March 2013 16:14 GMT By Staff

Disney has confirmed the release of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on PS Vita. The game will launch later this year.

It’s a short and sweet one this, but Disney’s Twitter feed posted the good news today:

A later post on the PlayStation Blog said the portable incarnation will use the front touch screen for “greater painting accuracy” and tilt controls for racing mode. It will support two-player co-operative mode via WiFi.

    So…they want to spread disappointment to even more people? They closed the studio that made it because it under performed. The next step shouldn’t be releasing it on another platform.

    Really this is what PS Vita owners want Sony? A Port of a underselling and criticised game and to top it off the Studio that made it has unfortunately closed down. You should be partnering with Rockstar for a certain killer app.

    And oddly, Sony is doing the porting of ps3 version to vita since junction point has closed down.

    I wonder why they are porting this game, it didn’t do anything special in sales. It may just be a waste of time, unless its part of a bigger deal.

    @2 No, but at least it is a Game to a dead system… OH WAIT.

    @4 As funny as i think that is; the PS Vita is not a Dead system. If there are no major announcements at E3 Or Gamescom; then i will agree with you. Now If you were to say there isn’t a game for everyone i would agree or there are no killer apps (my opinion) for it i would agree.

    It’s the late port of a bad game on a struggling system that doesn’t need it. Who benefits from this?

    The game I bought for my wife was horrible. Litteraly, the game was broken. We got it for WiiU. It reminded me of playing N64 Superman.

    @6 Well that is a great question, which i can’t think of an answer for.

    One of the problems with Vita is Sony isn’t even supporting their own system. Souls Sacrifice is not enough in Japan. I would have though more than a year into the Vita’s life Sony would have released at least 4-7 games like Soul Sacrifice and Gravity Rush on the system.

    But the main thing that’s hold me back from getting a Vita is the memory card price. The 32 GB memory cards are absurd. Over $70 bucks for 32 GB, ill pass.

    LOL? You joking? Check the number of Sony published games on vita.

    @Legend,
    I think its part of a bigger deal. But its not that Disney has anything noteworthy coming soon, except Infinity.
    I really cant think of anything else for this otherwise stupid move.

    @9 Yes completely true its not like a Killzone game is coming out this year, or tearaway, or soul sacrifice, or dragon’s crown, or DOA 5 Plus, or Warriors Lair, or Rachet And Clank Full Frontal Assault or Epic Mickey 2 The Power Of Two oh wait they are all coming this year, the majority of those games is published by Sony: that is support right there. As for the memory cards completely overpriced.
    @10 Yay :)
    @11 A bigger deal leading to what? is what i want to know. What do Sony get out of it besides another game for PS Vita? Why not Port COD Black Ops 2 Or GTA 5?

    @12,
    Ignore #10. He is a ms lover, sony hater.

    About bigger deals, maybe Infinity, as vita is the only major console on which its not coming. Not that I expect Infinity to be a success, since they are pricing toys too costly.But hey, if anyone can pull it off, its Disney.

    I think COD is a certainty this year. For the rubbish COD:BlopsD was, it sold really well (over 600k). And it was rumored Gta was in development in 2011, so it may come this year too. GTA Vita is all I need frankly. Both GTAs on PSP were the best handheld games that I played ever.

    @13 So your saying that this Port by Sony is testing the waters to get Disney to see the PS Vita is a viable platform for these type of games, that does sound like something that will attract Third Party Publishers. Over 600K that is strong brand power right there as for another COD on PS Vita well give the COD junkies what they want :)

    @14,
    And add to that Blops vita was probably funded by Sony ( Nihilstic was till then a Sony second party studio). Maybe we will see a real COD this year. That can be a even better seller.
    E3 is going to be a total blast this year. Its just my broken luck that I am traveling to a rural area on June 10, so I will miss all the live coverage.
