Shroud of the Avatar’s lead story designer is Dragonlance author Tracy Hickman

Dragonlance author Tracy Raye Hickman has joined the Shroud of the Avatar team as its lead story designer. He is also the author of series and worlds such as Deathgate Cycle, the Annals of Drakis and ‘Wayne of Gotham’. Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues is being funded by Kickstarter by Richard Garriott’s Portalarium, Inc. The team is seeking $1,000,000 and it look as though 13,924 backers have almost helped the team achieve its goal: $923,896 has been pledged with 22 days left on the clock. Okay, if I wasn’t already an Ultima VII fan, then this would have sold it to me. Hickman waves a pretty great fantasy tale — a troped one, perhaps, but still far less so than what most fantasy RPGs usually tend to trot out as a plot. And she’s good with characters and character interaction, too.

So… major bonus, in my opinion.

Not sure why I wrote she there instead of he. Maybe because I subconsciously consider Tracy a feminine name, or maybe not. Either way – Derp.

I’m a big fan of this project. It looks promising! I do hope it has a lot of features of Ultima Online too (looks like it does as well)! Tracy getting involved is a big plus too!
