Sonic Dash announced for mobile platforms

Sonic Dash has been announced for mobile platforms by Sega. It's rumoured to be their take on the Temple Run franchise, just like the rather brilliant Sonic Jump was a take on Doodle Jump.

Rumours of the game first surfaced earlier in the week via Sonic Stadium. The name was mentioned on the LinkedIn profiles of staff at UK studio Hardlight.

Sega has since confirmed the game's development to Kotaku.

A Sega rep told the site, "At this time, Sega is able to confirm that we are working on a new mobile game titled Sonic Dash. We have not announced any specific details on the product but we will be releasing additional information on this exciting, new game in the near future."

What do you think? Would Sonic a good fit for the 'endless runner' type of game? Let us know below.
