Need for Speed: Most Wanted features off-screen play on Wii U

Need for Speed: Most Wanted will feature off-screen gameplay when it lands on Wii U this year. This is according to a press release issued by EA Japan, which also dropped a date of March 14 for the racer. Details on the Wii U version have been a bit scarce since it was announced for the platform, but it looks as though menus and various car-related information will be accessible through the touch screen. It’s also good news knowing that you can play entire game using the GamePad, which will allow others in the house to watch their stories on TV while you race around Fairhaven City.

With a release announced for Japan, it shouldn’t be long before we hear something on Europe and North America. Thanks, Nintendo Life.

What I think would of been an even better feature for the Wii U would be been if you could play the entire game on the controllers screen whilst someone else uses the console and TV to watch Netflix, surf the web, create a Mii avatar, etc. You know allow the console to multitask. Because looking at the reported specs on the CPU in the Wii U its not got enough grunt at all. Good GPU but a weak CPU. This feature would of had me running to the shops and throwing my money all over the shop for one!
