An update has been issued for popular entry-level game development tool GameMaker Studio to correct an unfortunate DRM issue caused by an earlier patch. PlayerAttack reports the suite’s previous update introduced a bug which caused DRM to trigger on legitimate copies as well as pirated ones – permanently plastering pirate symbols all over the game’s resources. Some very unhappy users are now disastrously educated on the importance of multiple back ups.
