Mega Man: 'you've not seen the last of him', says Capcom

Mega Man's 25th anniversary came and went this year without so much as a birthday cake or new game to mark the occasion. However, developer Capcom hasn't forgotten about the blue bomber just yet, and has promised he will return on both console and handhelds going forward.

Speaking with Nintendo Power - by way of Siliconera - Capcom USA senior vice-president, Christian Svensson discussed the absence Mega Man titles, "I can say with certainty that you’ve not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we’ll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you’re going to enjoy over the next 25 years.

"That said, an issue we’ve had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we’re certain they’re going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I’m going to have to stay mum about any details."

It's a tease, but at least Mega Man is set to return in some capacity. It comes as Capcom discussed hopes to release the first six Mega Man NES titles on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
