Disney x Lucasfilm deal won’t affect Star Wars: 1313 development

Disney bought Lucasfilm last night for a staggering $4 billion last night, essentially handing keys to the Star Wars franchise over to the house of mouse. However, the next game to be spun from the franchise Star Wars: 1313 will not be affected in any way. Get the details below.

IGN reports that Lucasarts – the company’s gaming arm – issued the following statement on the security of the Star Wars: 1313 project:

For the time being all projects are business as usual. We are excited about all the possibilities that Disney brings.

Simple no? Star Wars: 1313 is due in 2013 on PC. What’s your take on Disney’s acquisition?

Thats good I was worried about this. Hope it still remains an 18 rated game, looking forward to a darker Star Wars game.

But it has had an impact on SWTOR – website is offline and people(according to its facebook page) cant login!

I wanted to read some more on the F2P options but cant. oh well. Maybe its a sign.

And with 1313, will it fit in to the Disney ‘brand’ – who knows what will happen with the game itself. Lets face it, the last batch of LucasArts games have been crap so maybe a fresh pair of eyes will help.

Warren Spector should lend his hand as gameplay advisor.
