I hope that after MoH fiasco this stupid modern military trend will disappear.

@2: Its not the aesthetic of the modern world setting that I have a problem with. Its the fact that its the same old linear, heavily scripted corridor shooting design that i’m utterly jaded on.

@2 ONLY thing that counts(unfortunately)is how much it will sell.

I wonder if EA will drop Danger Close before or after Christmas?

@5 While im not a fan of COD nor do I intend to buy Black Ops 2, at least they’re trying something new in the game play department. I’ll be curious to see it turns out for them..review wise.

@10 >”COD” and “something new” in the same sentence.

AHAHAHAHAHAH, oh boy.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting this. I wonder how many have based their opinion on the unpatched / shipped version (And rightfully so) and how many have given this score to the version with day one patch (Unfair and a bad practice).

This game must be amazing, since it isn’t as popular as CoD.

It’s just misunderstood and niche.

We should support this poor underdog because we’re outnumbered by advertising victims.

As I suspected, waste of development time and money

My biggest problem with the game, other than the game seemingly being shit, it that it’s so pro war it’s stupid. When you start calling soldiers “Warriors” and “Warfighters” you are basically saying war is kinda cool because it makes bad ass people.

Then you have stuff like the upcoming Splinter Cell that is pretty much pro-GITMO.

No thanks.

wow these scores are way low, like really really low, maybe cause MoH is starting to look like CoD in a sense ?!

I had hopes for this game, but alas

Videogames shouldn’t be rated based on content, instead they should be reviewed according to how I want them to sell. I want this game to sell and don’t want CoD (wait, I still need CoD to sell to hate it).

It’s a great game, and all the reviews were bribed by Activision.

Sad to see it play out this way. I LOVED Medal of Honor in it’s Playstation and PS2 days; hell even Airborne was great! Hate how it had to go modern to chase a quick buck. I’ll pick this up when it’s $30 or so, but until then, lemme know when they go back to World War II again. I’d actually be RELIEVED to play one of those.

Don’t know about PS2 MOH games but the original PS1 games were mostly made by the people behind COD1, COD2 and COD4 who are now at Respawn.

Well, EA ,if you are not gonna shut the studio down, then put them to work on games like this . This is what they are good at

@16: EA didn’t send out review copies before the launch at all. So everyone, reviewers included, played with the Day 0 patch.

What I don’t know is, did they purposefully do that so they could review it with the patch, or did they delay sending the games out on purpose so they’d still get the Day 1 buys, knowing that it’d get rubbish scores?

Don’t know about PS2 MOH games but the original PS1 games
There were no PS2 games, those were cut ports of PC MoH.

The PSX ones were made in collaboraton with Dreamworks.

Those reviews scores seem accurate based on the first game in the series.

5/10? ouch…

@2 For me a “linear, heavily scripted corridor shooting design” isn’t necessarily bad. One of my favorite FPS of all time (as it happens it’s MOH Frontline) was pretty straight forward but what made it great was the fast paced gameplay.

Developers have to realize that military shooters don’t need drama heavy scripts and Michael Bay set pieces, they can just be simple, gritty and fast pace.

MoH just don’t know what it wants to be. CoD has quick gameplay and silly over the top story. BF is all about “epicness”, vehicles, realism (ofc not ARMA style realism, but still…). And MoH is… In between. That’s not good.

But it’s just not that. For me, multiplayer is broken. Bugs, weird maps, and ugly interface. When I’m playing CoD I feel how the action flows, when I’m playing BF3 I feel the sense of big battles, when I played MoH:W I felt nothing :X

@Dave Cook
Do you think that the expectations were stupidly high again?
I wish I could answer this question, but my I copy will arrive next week so I have to wait. I am sure I will enjoy this game.

I’ve already bought the game today, expecting it tomorrow. I really liked the beta, the guns feel great, lots of weapons to unlock, great maps and nice responsive controls. If the game is like that, i’m fine! And i’m expecting exactly that of it. A short campaign is nothing new these days.

@9 spot on.

They ruined MoH for the quick buck. And the quick buck will come, when they start their advertiseorgasmagorian. Won’t ever pass CoD and probably no game will, GTA V aside.

most of reviewers didn´t play multiplayer, or just few rounds. So MP reviews can be +1 or 2 points higher.

I hope that EA learns the lesson this time and definitively moves on from the dying console FPS market (whose only rule is “no COD = no sale”).
