Wii U Deluxe pre-order allotment already met across GameStop stores – report
Wii U Deluxe allotted pre-orders at GameStop have been filled “company wide” in the US, according to a report on Polygon.
Stores across various states confirmed to the site that the allotted pre-orders had already been filled, some stores reached half of the allotment within hours of the console’s release date being announced.
Employees said they were unsure whether more Deluxe editions would be available for pre-order leading up to launch in November.
Industry analyst Michael Pachter said Thursday, he expected Nintendo would initially manufacture no more than “1 million units per month to start, so expect 1 million U.S., 1 million Europe, 1 million UK.”

“US retailer Best Buy has now sold out of both the 32GB Premium Wii U console and also the 8GB Basic Wii U console online. The retailer has now completely removed the console from its website. Those looking to pre-order the console from Best Buy will be greeted by a page not found notification for both SKU’s.”
Who would want to buy a WiiU I mean we have the 360/PS3 surely that blah blah blah blah blah blah
Make only limited amount of consoles
Make sure everyone knows demand exceeds the supply
Watch as people kill each other over a WiiU
Frenzy goes up
50000% more demand for WiiU
Nintendo is fucking brilliant, they did the same thing with the Wii
I guess this is just Nintendo’s small dedicated fanbase pre-ordering the entire supply and selling it out everywhere. Nothing to worry about, its a total flop.
mhmmm.

As expected, ninty fans and backwind of success of wii will result in strong initial sales of wiiu. Lets see how it goes. Ninty will get a free rein unless sony and MS announce price cuts and advertise it properly.

@3
Moving consoles mean developers will want there games on it…
Surely that’s a good thing regardless of the early adopters demographic?
No one wants another Vita on their hands…

I hope it is very successful, but I have my doubts for the long run…..
