Kickstarter: Project Giana demo goes live

Tuesday, 28th August 2012 12:18 GMT By Dave Cook

Project Giana, a Kickstarter project based on controversial 1987 title The Great Giana Sisters, has received a PC demo available from today.

The 1987 original Giana title is controversial due to its stark similarities to Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros, although the new Kickstarter version has little to do with that game.

Developed by Black Forest games, the new game is a colourful platformer that takes place in an abstract dreamscape. At the time of writing it has achieved $135,959 of its $150,000 funding goal with just three days to go. You can back the project here.

You can grab the Project Giana demo here.

Thanks RPS.

huh? the demo has been online since friday… maybe they didn’t announce it publicly at first but at least the download page was freely available without password or anything.

    at any rate…
i find it very disappointing that they’re probably not going to reach any of their stretch goals. it’s an jump’n'run available for PC! how many of those are there, damn it?! and it even looks and plays pretty great! yet, it seems like only few people care… :(
