Uber Entertainment turn to Kickstarter for Planetary Annihilation project
The team behind Monday Night Combat aim to bring RTS games to a new generation.
Planetary Annihilation will allow you to expand your empire across entire solar systems, play quick skirmishes on mini-maps, or wage a 12-hour-long war against 40 of your friends.
Custom and randomised maps can be created via the game’s planet creator, all of which can be shared with the community.
“Planetary Annihilation’s order queuing interface allows you to control massive armies spread across multiple worlds with ease,” according to the Kickstarter campaign.
“Get strategic views of the action anywhere, anytime by zooming in and out of the war zone, and use split interfaces and multiple windows to keep an eye on multiple battlegrounds at once.”

This looks like Supreme Commander meets Total Annihilation.
The game visualization video really looks good and solid as well.
I’m definitely supporting this one.

Hasn’t anybody noticed they are asking for $900,000? That seems like an awful lot.

@1 Never really had the same feel to me.
@4 I’m guessing they would need a couple of developers on the payroll to pull this one of. When you also include artists, sound-people and all the other necessary stuff, $900,000 really doesn’t sound like much too me…

Looks like they’re going to be passing 200k today. So it seems achievable.
I’m sure that, should the campaign be successful, they’ll be able to dig up some extra funds using other means if that is needed to complete the game. If fans pay 900k to make your game a reality, that’s a pretty sure fire way of knowing there’s demand for it and that you’ll recoup the extra investments.
