Metal Gear Solid 5 Comic-Con rumour debunked by Konami
You may have seen a few sketchy images of a “Metal Gear Solid 5″ logo drifting about today. Don’t piss yourself just yet: amazingly, it’s fake.

As Kotaku reports, some Redditors claimed the game was shown at Comic-Con last week, using the image as proof.
Said Konami UK on its Twitter account: Fake or real, we love a bit of speculation!”
Adding: “Seriously, just in case the #pinch #salt hashtags weren’t enough – the chap who claims to have set up the fake rumours has been in touch.”
Hideo Kojima also took to Twitter to confirm the logo is “completely fake”.
If that’s as exciting as today’s going to get, we may as well all give up now.

No offense but that “Open Ground Reconnaisance Endeavours” was crystal clear to me.
Why should Kojima change the gameplay into something new, when he blamed on Kojima productions for the “Lightning Bolt Action” thing?

Completely fake i think. Why would KONAMI annouce/show MGS5 for the first time at Comic-con? This doesn’t make any sense.

“Open Ground Reconnaissance Endeavours” made me laugh so much
So much so, that Konami should use it as the tagline for the real MGS5.

@4 that line written Hideo Kojima all over it, but I suspect this was something he changed his mind about it.

The tortured nature of the acronym only adds to the validity!
I wouldn’t be too surprised if Konami UK are simply out of the loop with this one. It would only have been a behind-closed-doors viewing, not an announcement, so I’m not sure why they’d be privy to it.
We’re certainly within the window of opportunity for KojiPro’s next project to be announced: the PS3 and 360 install bases are peaking, with the next generation looming. I could see an announcement trailer at the VGAs or TGS, with a demo included with Revengeance to give its prospects a shot in the arm.

@6 TGS would be the likely case. Kojima only considers E3 and TGS as biggest press events.

@2
also when capturing the name and logo, couldn’t he capture the cutscene pre-render?
instead of doing it towards the end.
i did the fake DOA5 image, and everyone is using that style, it’s old now and predictable:/
